If you were a client, what would you want to know about the cleaning company you are considering hiring? Any inside secrets to share?
I would want to know all of the different services offered besides routine housekeeping.
Often a professional housekeeping service is multifaceted and will offer their clients an array of convenient services. If you aren't certain what your housekeeping service offers their clients, beyond the routine services, just ask! You may be pleasantly surprised of how much they can do for you, thus, fewer strangers in your home providing other services.
What advice do you have home or business owners that are seeking a professional cleaning service?
Don't just take the first cleaning service that you find, research and interview with several before making a decision. Ask your friends, co-workers and families for recommendations.
If you are looking to hire a national chain / franchise, check the better business bureau for ratings.
Look for the business representative that will meet with you on your property. Doing so will give you the chance to see them face to face and get a "feel" for whether or not you like and trust the person / company.
If they offer a way to quote the work needed on their website, they will often agree to meet with you in your home or office as well.
Check references before allowing anyone in your home or business unattended!
Also, don't just take the company at it's word that they have all appropriate insurances in place. Always ask for proof of insurances. Their insurance company offers these proofs free of charge to their client and their client's customers.
Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
Our Routine Cleaning services on a weekly, every other week, and once per month basis would be our most common service used by our clients. They also love to hire us for their window washing needs too!
Due to our level of client satisfaction, they often have us clean for their parents homes and the businesses that they own as well.
Many of our clients also refer us to their friends and co-workers!
We also offer move in – move out cleaning, hoarder cleaning, post construction cleaning and house checks for the times you are away from home for any length. Not to forget, we do deep cleaning and spring cleanings too.
What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
I am often asked how often I feel the client should have our company service their home.
My answer is always a question back to the homeowner, "how often are you going to be able to clean in between our professional cleaning services?"
The infirm client and very busy clients aren't going to have the ability or allot of time to dust and vacuum between cleanings due to either work demands or family obligations. Those clients are going to want a more frequent service.
The client who enjoys cleaning and is looking for just a "treat" or "break" once in a while will want the monthly appointments or just occasional service.
Another thing to think about would be finances. What can you comfortably afford on a regular basis? There's nothing more disappointing than enjoying the service you hired and then having to give it up because you can't afford to have it done any longer.
What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A potential client should always ask for references and proofs of insurances.
Other questions to ask would be:
Who furnishes the cleaning products?
Who furnishes the cleaning equipment?
How long do you anticipate the cleaning to take each time?
What all will you be doing while you are in my home/office?
Do you do criminal background checks on your employees?
Do you require drug testing on your employees?
How many people will be in my home/office at a time to clean?
How long have you been in business?
How do you handle your client's keys?
What days of the week and hours of the day do you provide services?
Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
We have recently completed several empty homes where we did in depth cleanings to prepare the homes for putting them on the market for sale.
One of our routine cleaning clients went on vacation for a couple of weeks. While they were gone we were scheduled to go into their home to clean it. We found the home infested with fleas. We called the client to tell him what was happening. He was shocked about the fleas and worried about bringing his family back home to it.
We offered to call our preferred exterminator to set up services to rid the house of the fleas before they return. The client was ecstatic! We met the exterminator at the client's home, stayed with the exterminator until the job was complete and made sure the house was secured again before leaving.
Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
Our company has been around for over 27 years (Since 1993). This is no small fete when living in a small rural community! We offer our services completely customized to each client's needs and financial background. We clean almost anything from ceiling to floor with our own professional cleaning solutions and high end equipment.
All of our employees have passed our criminal background checks and drug testing 100% and must maintain that level to work with us. We are devoted to our client's needs and peace of mind.
What do you like most about your job?
I love working with our clients and seeing the positive impact we have on their lives!
What do you charge for your services?
We charge by the hour with a minimum of 2-3 hours depending on location. You can decide how many hours you want us there to clean each time and we schedule accordingly. No surprise fees here! We are fast, thorough and reliable.
How many cleaning technicians will be cleaning in my home?
It could be just one Tech or several depending on the size of the location and how much work is to be completed.
Do you have a favorite story from your work?
When we have completed training with our new employees, they all come to love our equipment, cleaning solutions and techniques so much that they find it difficult to clean their own homes without them.
What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
We are a homegrown business, not a large chain or franchise. We offer a wide variety of professional services at budget-able prices from fixed living finances to corporate budgets.
How did you decide to get in your line of work?
It was an easy fit business that I felt comfortable in due to the fact that I grew up in a home that took cleanliness seriously. Our whole family dug in on the weekends to be sure that every nook and cranny of our house was neat and tidy.
It is a family friendly and flexible business. PERFECT FIT for a family needing some wiggle room for those special and emergency moments!
Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
The most rewarding work are the deep cleans that we perform when starting up a new routine cleaning relationship with our clients. You can always see the difference which makes us really feel good about what we do. Seeing our client’s faces when they are surprised at what we accomplish is icing on the cake!
Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
Yes, we attend seminars and conferences on a regular basis throughout the year. I have actually served as a board member of our trade association! We are also an IICRC certified company.
What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
Chemical free cleaning is the newest development. We are now capable of cleaning any home or office without the use of harsh chemicals. This means less allergens and harmful chemicals absorbed or inhaled by our clients.
